Commission Season Opens Today

Sun Apr 19, 2009, 1:34 PM
With steady and determined steps I move towards my goal.
Like in all paths, obstacles are diverse.
Some of them can be trampled, others jumped and others, embattled.
In the end they will all be inevitably conquered.

WORK

Since I decided to live with my wife and her daughter I began to develop the plan that would lead me to become a full-time artist.
Regrettably a few months later I found out that they were going to dismiss me of my day job.

The plan of becoming 100 % artist changed from being something gradual to something immediate. Of course, I could´ve looked for another 9 to 5 work and keep the original version of the plan.

But, when 01/01/09 found me out of the corporate world, the universe confronted me with my deepest desires and I allowed myself to go for them, encouraged by my family and my friends.
Today I am looking into several projects, but none represents an immediate revenue to the “in need” familiar arks.

So, I decided to open the commissions season.
And since the world´s economy is upside down I adjusted the prices once again.

Those that commission me will obtain an illustration in my style, of anything that they happen to ask for. From established characters, to those of your own creation. Anything you can imagine.

As you can see in my gallery, I adapt easily to the most diverse topics and approaches, I´m also opened for challenges. The more challenging, the better.

As the sketches evolve, the decisions about the image will stay in your control. This way you will be able to change all that you want until we manage to capture in canvas what exists in your mind. Don´t abuse, please.
After that, we pass to the final process of doing the image.

Finished the work, it will be sent to your house via express mail in a protective envelope. Obviously I´ll also send to you a scanned high resolution version for any extra thing that you could need it for.

It does not matter how complex it could be, nor even how many characters are involved; the price of a full colour illustration is $ 50 plus shipping.
I can also work doing sketches, character designs, conceptual and sequential art.
These prices may vary and they will be agreed after the contact has been stablished.
I need the money so don´t hesitate to contact me with your doubts and/or questions. I don´t charge that...=D

As far as payment goes, I use Western Union mostly, because it is easier, safer and has no restraints as to how much I can receive and how to cash it. If you've never used Western Union before, you can check their site here: [link] and find out about the details. But, in short, what you do is fill out a form with my data and yours and specifying the ammount of money you want to send. After that, you pay the ammount, plus the fee for the transaction, and two hours later I can cash the money over here.

Soon I will see if I can implement a simpler system of payment like PayPal or Xoom.

So if you want to commission me, please, send me a note or a mail to: ignaciodimeglio@gmail.com

Thank you in advance.

PERSONAL

The life of a family is a new adventure every day.
The challenge of raising a child in a different way than the one I was educated is something complicated and highly gratifying.
I live trying not to commit the errors of the past and correcting those of the present to give my wife, Pamela and my stepdaughter, Ivone, the life they deserve.
They impel me to improve more and more every day.
The relation becomes stronger with every step of the process of coexistence.
It is something very pleasant in a world in which, regrettably, the family is an institution in the way to extinction.
Days ago it was the birthday of the little lady and she asked us to go camping. We did it.
We spent a few idyllic and oneiric days between bonfires, horror stories and nature. None of us wanted to return home, but our dog, Bob was going to miss us too much.
We returned exhausted, smiling and grateful for everything that we experienced.

LEISURE

I spend most of my free time with my girls.
We ride bicycle, watch movies and series and a lot of family stuff.
When I´m not with them I dedicate time to my friends, go to recitals and roleplaying with :iconcontrol01: , :iconaerion-the-faithful: and other nerd friends.

In the past month I have enjoyed several books, between them Michael Ende´s “The Neverending Story”. I highly recommend it to those who have only seen the movie. To those who did not see it I recommend both. Also I reread (for the third time) Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley´s “Frankenstein“. I remember that when I read it for the first time I couldn´t believe that anybody could finish it.
What can I say? Change is the only constant in the universe.

Movies

I have seen many movies this last months. Few managed to stand out while others went into oblivion. I saw many of them again to share them with Ivone, so the list can be a little out of date.
I have managed to transmit part of my taste for Tim Burton with “The Corpse Bride” and “Beetlejuice“. She had already seen “A nightmare before christmas” but she refused to see the others for those strange reasons that children use and we the adults cannot understand anymore.
We filled with hopes with Gil Kenan's “City of Ember” and cryed with Gabor Csupo's “Bridge to Therabithia”. In my opinion, Walden Media is producing very good children movies.
For adults I remember some as: Pierre Morel's “Taken“, Christophe Barratier's “Les Choristes”, Danny Boyle's “Sunshine“ and Ron Fricke's “Baraka“ wich by the way is an excellent movie that everyone should see.

Television

No, thank you…=D
In fact, I could boast of about not watching TV until Pamela sat me down to see Lost. I´ve been defeated, the island has trapped me and I have seen only half of the first season.
Battlestar Galactica is next.

Music

Uff!!!
Too much to write.
I am anxious about the release of the new Mastodon album “Crack the Skye” and for a show of some of the best local bands, next month. Among this bands are my friends of “7 Actos de Piedad”, a great band with which I share some ideas and projects.

General

Although the world is afraid of the economic crisis, I believe that it is just a pitfall in the route of humanity. The economy will not be lucky enough to erase us from the face of the planet. As long as we keep on existing we will be able to learn from the past to be able to construct a better and more fair future for all, someone has to do the foundations on which the new tomorrow will be constructed.

Thank you very much for reading thru all my occurrences and events.
Regards and good luck.

Ignacio.
